Posted on May 18, 2012, updated July 24, 2012 Posted on September 4, 2011, updated May 18, 2012 Their plants are very large and healthy. Packaging is also perfect, extremely careful and safe for the plants. All the plants they' ve sent me have survived and doing fine. The only source in Europe for some specific tropical plants. The only problem i had with them is communication, as they reply quite late, but in general i didn't have any problems dealing with them, despite the fact that in the last two years i've made a dozen of orders.

On May 18th, 2012, eliasastro changed the rating from positive to neutral and added the following: Since last fall prices of the plants and shipping costs inside EU went out of orbit. Unbelievable... French post office didn' t increase shipping costs at this period. In the past i was very satisfied with their plants and packaging, except for few cases of mislabeling, but they did what they could. I'm so sad that i can't order from them again because of the extremely high prices and especially shipping costs.
On July 24th, 2012, eliasastro changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following: Mislabeling hit again. Caesalpinia pulcherrima pink was actually the red one. Also, last autumn i ordered a Stemmadenia littoralis, but i received one single Tabernaemontana divaricata. I informed them and they promised to send Stemmadenia in my next order. That was last spring, but they sent another Tabernaemontana divaricata with the label of Stemmadenia. Very disappointed. Today i calculated shipping costs for only 2 plants and it was 71 Euros (inside EU), what to say?

WARNING NEVER BUY PLANTS FROM TROPICAFLORE Dear friends from US and UK, be very careful about this firm. They have cash problems and are now selling to people damaged plants and other plants different than the ones you have ordered. An attorney at law has been designed by french commercial court to check what they are doing. If you want more information please mail me privately : tropicpalm@hotmail.com Paul from France

I ordered a number of plants from this company in June, 3 Brugmansias, 1 Datura, 1 Scutellaria, 1 Globba winittii and a Strongylodon macrobotrys. When the plants arrived they were in terrible condition(apart from the Strongylodon which was unhappy but with a little TLC revived). All the brugs/datura had lost their leaves and the stem bark had started to rot. The Scutellaria costaricana had two leaves at the top of its stem and was infested with aphids. I photographed the plants on arrival and emailed them to Tropicaflore suggesting that they might like to replace them or credit me. I received no reply. I managed to coax 2 of the brugs, the scutellaria, and the globba into growing, and they are now OK, except that the plant I ordered as Globba winitti flowered and appears to be G. Andersonii or similar, which I already had! I just hope that the Strongylodon is the right species, as I do not expect flowers for a couple of years.

A few weeks ago, I decided to order some plants from this french Web & Mail supplier specialising in Tropical flowers & plants. I ordered about 35 plants, mainly brugmansias together with some plumerias and hibiscus. These plants were not unexpensive, since I had to pay around 1200 Euros, including special fee for express delivery. Since the delivery did not happen in due time (in Southern Spain, they have a very special understanding of the word "express"), the plants were not in a good condition while I received the packs after a 10 days trip in hot weather. Leaves were rotten, general appearance was very deceiving. After more than two weeks of constant loving care (water, anti-fungus, filtering shadow) , about twelve of these plants are definitely lost. I proceeded to a "post-mortem autopsy" and look what I found! Some of these plants, invoiced for amounts between 10 and 17 Euros plus delivery cost, did even not get any roots!!!! Simple cuttings in some potting mix.... Here is a picture of a plumeria tricolor, huge cutting, invoiced 37 Euros, and this is only a piece of wood, no one single root!!!! See pictures at : //www.villagephotos.com/pubbrowse.asp?selected=92373 picture 1: plants at reception picture 2: some plants dead and rotten (Brug. versicolor Jutner,B. Versicolor Apricot Queen, B; hyb.Pride of Hannover,B.aurea Single White x aurea, B. versicolor Salmon/peach, B. suaveolens Rose,B. hyb.Kyles Giant White,B. versicolor Tiarra, Hibiscus Schizopetalus, Plumeria Tricolor and some others are LOST) picture 3: lack of roots in some young Brugmansia, some without any root! picture 4: plumeria Tricolor, not rooted at all, but sold a nice 37 Euros as a strong healthy young plant!
