My cycad nursery is by appointment only and located in a garden-like setting in the foothills of Santa Barbara, CA. I specialize in the cycad genera, Encephalartos and Dioon as well as other plants of distinction such as agaves, aloes, and similar beautiful plants with radial symmetry. He does not part with these treasures, but he always has a wide selection for purchase. Prices are fair, and he has always been friendly and good to deal with. I understand his plants may find their way to other nurseries too. | |

from Acton, CA (Zone 8b) Jeff Chemnick is one of the world's foremost authorities on cycad biology and cultivation. Excellent plants and very trustworthy advice. He is located in Santa Barbara and has a beautiful collection of plants (doesn't just know cycads, but all sorts of biology). Also a birding expert. I have gotten plants from him of excellent quality. Not sure he ships, though... usually have to go there and get plants directly from him... which is not always easy since he spends so much time traveling about the world. | |
