A few years ago I decided to visit Holly Hill Daylilies, as it was highly recommended. What a great field trip it turned out to be -- in spite of 100+ degree heat and the fact that I don't even care for daylilies! What a wonderful labor of love went into the making of this nursery -- nothing miserly or petty here, just the joy of gardening. Daylily plants were grown meticulously in long rows, nicely labelled. They looked large and healthy. Surrounding the huge daylily field were wonderful old farm buildings, amazing garden art, a large veggie garden and a pen full of heirloom chickens. I shall NEVER forget the giant blue bottle tree!!! We spoke to the owner, who was very kind, and we ended up buying 2 hybrid daylilies. While they aren't particularly vigorous, that's no doubt due the humongous size of their blooms! Still they are healthy and doing fine. Although I have no more space for daylilies, I still want to return. This is a terrific nursery and we had a wonderful experience through and through!

It is always a wonderful experience to visit Holly Hill DayLily Farm. I first visited the farm over ten years ago and more recently last year and several times this year. The selections are beautiful and unusual. In addition to Daylilies, the farm also sells crinums. I am the proud owner of over 30 varieties of daylilies and most are from Holly Hill. I can only highly recommend Holly Hill and Dr. Jim Massey, the owner, not only for the gorgeous selections, but also their friendly staff and the generous clumps of lilies that I have purchased. Some rarer varieties that reproduce slowly may only come in one or two fans but mostly I have walked away with at least three fans per cultivar, and sometimes more.... prices are reasonable and the plants transplant easily....

I was pleased to have come upon this site and feel more than comfortable in highly recommending HollyHill Daylily Farm to everyone. I have been buying daylillies from them for over 10 years and am returning again this year. In fact, I am doing my second house with their daylillies. The plants are very well grown, mature and simply don't miss a beat in the gardens. If you ever get a chance, do come to the open house that is featured (only seven weekends each year); I never miss it. It is both a delight to the senses and the soul... Will be seeing the whole crew at least twice during this coming open house period, and always bring friends who marvel when they go around the secret garden corner. P. Rand

Excellent selections in a huge range of colors. There is nothing any more fun than driving out to the farm, walking among the flowers and selecting the exact clump you want! They dig them on the spot and load them in the wagon for you. Every plant I have purchased has performed very well, to include the sedum and crinum!
