Posted on May 19, 2013, updated May 24, 2013 Rec'd two lotus plants from them in early April. One was fine and is growing well. The other was not showing any signs of breaking dormancy when I potted it up. Made a phone call and was told that the variety I was calling about takes time to break out of dormancy. It's now the middle of May and no signs of life from this lotus which prompted me to send an email stating the problem. I was told by Sandra there that they will replace the plant but had to pay their minimum of $9.50 to ship a replacement. I am passing on this offer and won't be ordering from them anymore. I do a large part of my ordering of plants/seeds online and never was asked to pay shipping for a replacement, but willlingly have been shipped replacements with no cost to me if ever there was a problem.

On May 24th, 2013, Patty57 changed the rating from negative to positive and added the following: Sandra was quick to get back to me in re of information about replacement plants. Humbly, I did not read that section on their site and admittingly was wrong. On a plus note, and I mentioned this to Sandra, that I have not had to pay shipping on replacement plants and have not had this happen often, only just recently with a dahlia tuber from a vendor with a larger order. Would order from Springtime Nursery again.

We are sorry that you felt the need to place a negative post
We do state on our website that all shipments are at the customers expense so that information was there when you placed your order, as well as we state we do not replace plants, but we were willing to work with our customers. We were willing to send you another lotus tuber which cost 16.95. We do not make anything on shipping charges, and if we charged a lot more for our plants then we could offer free shipping charges like they do.
We do appreciate that you stated that the other lotus was doing well.
To be honest with you we do not have very many customers that ask for a replacement plant over the last 22 years and we ship thousands of plants yearly. Replacement plants have been shipped mostly if the box was waylayed somewhere and the plants got to hot or to cold which has nothing to do with healthy plants.
I am wondering if you have had to ask for a lot of replacement plants at no charge to ship since you say you have never been charged shipping charge if ever there was a problem with any replacement plant.
Sorry to lose your business but we live in a free country and that is your priviledge.
Sincerely
Sandra

Compared to many other companies our plants are not that expensive and if we charged a lot more like many companies we would not have to charge for the shipping charge, During our shipping season, rarely do we have anyone request another plant, since we do ship healthy plants.

Sincerely,

Sandra

I would of posted this to Dave's Garden Watch however, they are much quicker at posting things than getting back to a company with the information needed to do that.

Fantastic company to deal with! Ordered 3 lotus then got a phone call a few minutes later to say they were adding some extra that they thought they were out of, free of charge. She also spoke to me on the phone for quite a while about my problems with wintering over seedlings that I had grown. The tubers I got were very nice, most had a leaf or two already growing. Very healthy. I highly recommend this company.

Wow. GREAT customer service, and the plants they sent were super! I've ordered twice before from this company and have never been disappointed. This year I ordered three waterlily plants. One of the varieties was late in producing saleable plants. They called me at least 3 times with updates, and the chance to pick a sub. I decided to wait and see if the variety would become available. It did, the plants shipped, and arrived within two days. They had beautiful green leaves, intact, healthy looking roots, and a couple of flower buds!!! The prices beat every competitor I've looked at, the list of varieties is impressive, and the website is user friendly. If one is not comfortable with ordering plants on the internet, it is easy to speak with a real person as well. Who'd have thought; tropical waterlilies from Colorado?! But they grow them well and do a great job getting them to you!

The lady who runs this company really knows her stock and how to take care of these plants: When there was a problem with my order she called within one day! She then proceeded to ask me questions about my water gardening situation to make sure the plants I selected would fit in my small space - she also offered alternatives that would probably would work better. The prices at eWaterlily were exremely resonable compared to other online stores, and the selection was huge! I had a wishlist of cultivars I wanted and found them all here. When I received my shipment (which arrived exactly on time), everything appeared very healthy and larger than what I was expecting: The roots of all my plants were turgid (papyrus, umbrella palm, waterlilies). My lotus tuber was about the size of a banana pepper with healthy growing tips. The waterlilies even had half a dozen leaves attached! The only plant that looked a little peaky was the parrot's feather, but I hear that's normal for it being in a dark box for a few days. Detailed instructions on how to grow all my new plants were also included. Which was awesome because I'm new to this and didn't want to screw anything up. I would definitely buy from here in the future.

Sandra and Victor are so very helpful. We had just set up a pond and were having problems keeping the water clear. We called and they recommended some lillies and oxygenators. Within two days the water was crystal clear. (And we do not use any chemicals!) They understand you want to have beautiful plants and not spend a mint. They are close to us so we went for a visit. The colors and quality of the plants are amazing. I fell in love with a King of Siam but Victor sold it before I could get back. When reality hit I realized it was way too big for me so he sold me a smaller one. We just closed down our pond due to cold weather. At closing the Tina lily still had 8 blooms, the King of Siam had 6 - and were they big! The marginals did well, and I can't wait to order again for next year. The plants that were shipped came in wonderful shape and they are great at giving reasonable advice. Their prices are great!!!

Ordered two hardy lilies- an Innerlight and a Moondance... Very happy with my experience with this company. I ordered on a Thursday, the plants shipped the following Monday and I received them on Wednesday. The owners were friendly and prompt with e-mail correspondence. The package was insured and the plants were packed well. They were nice sized, clean, and healthy! Would recommend and will order from again!

The plants I ordered were not in good shape when they arrived. I called the company and was told it was probably the weather or my fault. I have gotten the exact plant from several other companies and have never had them arrive in such bad shape. I expected Spring Time Nursery to stand behind their plants and either ship more or refund my money-I learned an expensive lesson-don't order from them again-they do not stand behind their products!

The plants were shipped on 4/25/07 and according to the USPS website arrived on 4/28/07.
Our policy is if there is a problem with the plants when they arrive we need to know within 24 hours. The customer did not call us until 6 days later, to state the plants were brown.
When the plants left here they were healthy and green, and from shipping thousands of boxes each year we are very aware that the plants could not turn brown in 2 days. They might get a little sad and a bit dry but not what was described to us by phone. The customer also stated that she had been putting them in the pond during the day and taking them out and putting them in the garage at night, the plants are giant papyrus which are tropical plants and they do not do well in cold weather. The customer stated she had grown them before and last year there was no problem, anyone who grows water plants knows each year is different, temperatures can vary from one year to the next, she also did not know what the night temps in her pond were, or what the temps in the garage were, all which are important factors. We did try to talk to the customer and we were more than willing to try to resolve the problem, however, sometimes this is not possible. We have thousands of customers that will tell you we do stand behind what we sell.

I recently rec'd my first order from ewaterlily. I had emailed them and asked if my order hadn't shipped, could I add to it. Within 10 min. I rec'd a phone call telling me it was being boxed up and would be happy to add to my order. I ordered 3 lotus, 1 water lily and 1 misc water plant. They all arrived in great condition and I felt like the prices were right. I would buy from them again.

Ordered hard to find (online) Louisiana irises for a boggy section of the yard. The selection was reasonable, the price was reasonable, and the shipping was fast. The plants arrived carefully tagged and in good condition. I'm looking forward to seeing how they fare in the yard!

The lotuses I ordered from them March 2005 are doing great! I'm glad I am finally sharing my experience because I know it pays to buy plants from reputable growers. I now always check the Garden Watchdog before I order plants. For the life of me, I know the tubers arrived neatly tagged, but I lost them. I called Springtime Nursery today to help me look up what I have ordered and the lady on the other end was so DELIGHTED to look up my order history. The tubers btw arrived in excellent condition. Packed exceptionally well, and came with planting instructions. I hope they just get better and better!

I ordered a tropical waterlily, 'King of Siam, from ewaterlily.com. This is the largest, healthiest waterlily I have ever received by mail and at a very reasonable price. I have ordered previously from Trickers, Paradise Water Gardens, and Lily Pons, but this company has them all beat. The lily arrived in perfect condition, like it just came out of the pond 5 minutes ago, with about 7 large healthy leaves and at least 6 small buds at the base. It also had a very nice root system. I would highly recommend them.

I have ordered from Springtime Nursery the past three years. The size of the water lilies has varied somewhat, but only one failed to live, and they refunded my money for it. The lotus they sent me was large and bloomed twice the first year. I am surprised to hear that they did not reply to a request for help, as I have asked them for advice several times and always received prompt, useful answers. Also, the plants I have received from them have always been what I ordered, which is not invariably the case with other suppliers. They will send a printed pricelist/catalog which does contain planting instructions, and there is always a sheet included with the order that gives abbreviated instructions.

I wanted some changeable waterlilies. Springtime had the best prices on the Internet, along with good color pictures and descriptions. After doing much checking, I ordered from them. As their prices were quite a bit lower than some places, I did not have high expectations. I called in the order on Friday and received it the following Thursday via Priority Mail. The quality of my 3 different lilies was excellent, some were about ready to bloom. There were no planting instructions but we had seen them on the Internet at many different places so that was not a big deal. I would definitely order from them again.

I placed my first aquatic plant with them and they were extremely helpful and knowledgable on the phone. I'll post once the plants arrive.

On May 2nd, 2002, SLEDDER added the following: I received the order and the plants were great. I do wish they would have sent planting instructions along with the order. But the packaging was good and they marked each plant very well. The order arrived exactly when they said it would.
On June 24th, 2003, SLEDDER changed the rating from positive to negative and added the following: I placed another order for lilies this spring for one tropical lily, one mini lily, and a hardy red lily. All of them were very small but considering the bad winter I didn't think much of it. The tropical survived but the mini and hardy red were barely surviving. I sent this company an email requesting help or replacement policy and never heard back. I was really hoping for help at the very least but apparently they don't need my business. No problem...I'll make my purchases locally from here on out. It's a sad situation because I recommended this company to numerous people but certainly won't now.
