Order for Lilies-0f-the-valley was placed and paid through Paypal in February. After not receiving my order I contacted the company in March. They said due to the weather they could not ship. Contacted them again in May and June. John at the company indicated they had to check with the "shipping department" and get back to me which he never did. I finally sent John an email requesting a refund if they had not yet shipped but he has not responded nor have I received a refund. This company is a rip-off.

This company puts all others to shame with their brilliant business plan. Many companies out there will promise you nice big healthy bulbs and then ship you less than healthy plants. That is how they make their money. This company’s plan is even more brilliant however. They promise the same nice big healthy bulbs, but then they forgo shipping you anything altogether. Just think, that is pure profit for them. This is an account of my dealings with them. § On March 10th, I ordered some calla lily bulbs for my mother’s birthday on the 29th. I asked them if they could have them here by then and they told me they would do their best. (Lie #1) § On April 7th, I again inquired where my bulbs were and they sent me an e-mail saying that they were still having cold weather where they were based but were going to begin shipping in a week or two. (Lie #2) § On May 9th, my callas from the year before were 12” tall. I again inquired, and this time they apologized for the delay told me that it was only just starting to be time to put my bulbs in the ground, and promise me that my bulbs would ship the next week, May 12th through the 16th. (Lie #3) § On May 21st, fed up, I gave them one business day to either put my bulbs in the mail or give me a full refund. I hear nothing back. § On May 23rd I contacted Visa, they told me to contact this company one last time and ask for a refund and then I could file criminal fraud accusation. I sent a final e-mail again asking for a full refund that day and told them that I had contacted Visa. After hearing that they finally refunded the transaction in full through PayPal. No apology or explanation, just a deposit into my account. This is hands-down the worst company I have ever dealt with. It is now to late to order and plant the calla’s that my mother had wanted. Sorry mom, no birthday present this year. I know that their prices are alluring but do not under any circumstances give them any business. They will lie to you, cheat you, waste your time, and if you let them try to steal from you.

We ordered Lily of the Valley on April 25. By the end of May they had not been delivered. We contacted them to cancel order because planting conditions were no longer favorable. They assured us of a refund. Two months later after numerous emails we have received a serious runaround, but NO REFUND. They do not give a location address or live phone number. I strongly urge they be avoided. They will not support the sale.

I purchased tulip bulbs last year (2002) from Geerlings, and half of them were rotten. I contacted the company several times and they assured me they would replace the bad bulbs. After months of trying I finally gave up and haven't heard from them since. I turned it over to the better business bureau and even they were unable to get them to resolve that issue. I can assure you this much. I will never consider buying anything from them. If they were the only provider of the garden supplies I needed, I would do without.

I have always loved Calla Lilies, and even carried them at my wedding. I never realized how easy they were to grow, and how long the lasted after I cut them, and put them in water. I found Calla Lily bulbs on the web at Geerlings Bulbs, and the directions made it seem too simple. Within a few weeks I started to see these green leaves start to shoot, and 1-1/2 month after planting, I had the most beautiful Calla Lilies growing in my garden. This was the fist time I had ever planted bulbs, and I have just placed another order for tulips and daffodils. I will report back in the Spring, but if the tulips are as good as their Calla, this bulb thing could become my favorite hobby! Bridgy

My experience with Geerlings Bulbs was completely different. I had never planted bulbs before, and was getting tired of buying new flats of flowers every spring. I found them by searching on the web, and it was very easy buying what I wanted right from their website. When the bulbs arrived, I was able to plant them easily and apparently correctly using the easy planting directions that came in the box. I am going to even try planting Calla Lilies this spring, and would have no problem dealing with them again. Spring is almost here, and I cannot wait to be greeted by my tulips again!

I placed a large order with them in the summer of 2000. My order never showed up, so in November of 2000 I called to cancel my order and it took them until April 2001 to credit my charge card. I must have sent 10 emails and made five phone calls and filed a dispute with my card to get my refund. I would not order from them ever again. Be careful!!

Geerlings carries many varieties of bulbs for super prices. They do business on the internet only, which keeps costs down. It would be a good one to list on your gardening catalogue list!
