Received my order quickly and in good condition, clump size was generous. One of the plants I ordered was no longer available, there was a refund check in the box AND there was a single fan of that plant in the box at no charge!

I had been impressed with the favorable response to Sunshine Hollow Gardens. I placed a large order with them for approximately $150.00 of daylilies. When then daylilies arrived, instead of being green they were white, the tubers were shrivelled and brown. I contacted the company and was told "If they were chlorotic, it would indicate that they were out of the light for a long time. My wife and I dug all the plants and they were in excellent condition when we shipped them. We can't understand why they were in a bad condition if they arrived there on Friday and were opened and planted in a timely fashion. We try our best to give customers the best plants they will get anywhere. We also have an unconditional guarantee so if you get plants that are not satisfactory, misnamed or do not live for the first two months all you need to do is let us know for a refund of the purchase price and the shipping if any." So I requested a refund as the plants were dead. I figured they died in transit since the box said "Keep refrigerated." Dave Rhyne refuted this, that the plants were healthy, that they would green up, that they had misled me about promising a refund, "For any plants that do not live the first two months after planting we will certainly send you a refund for the plant and shipping. I apologize if I mislead you about the refund. If you were not satisfied with the plants when you received them, then per the instructions you received with the order you could have sent them back to us immediately for a full refund. I believe that if the plants are still growing that you will be pleasantly surprised after they have fully recovered from their digging and replanting. Having said all that we do not want unhappy customers. Please let us know the situation on your plants after another month and if you are still not happy we will make it right." So another month passes. I write them again to let them know the plants were indeed dead. No reply. My parents took sick and drew my attention away from the matter. They both passed. Recently, I sent them another email recently as this situation is still extremely unfair to me. I have lost 150.00 to this vendor. Their reply: "Three years ago I told you what our guarantee was...(he copied email above...)Surely you don't expect a refund after that much time without notifying us that the plant have all perished? I also find it difficult to believe that if the plants were properly handled and planted that all of them would have died. Daylilies are pretty strong plants and I have thrown them out in the woods and found later that they have reestablished and lived." I have written to Sunshine Hollow multiple times about sick and dead plants. For my money and efforts, have neither plants nor a refund, only implied blame about the way I handled the plants, and run-around about a guarantee they offer but do not honor.

I learned of the clump sale this year on dg, and I thought the prices were unbelievable. I ordered 7 varieties and they sent such huge fans that my sister ended up with a third of them, because I really had enough to share with no pain. They are all doing great, and one has already bloomed. I used to pass the place all the time going from Maryville Tn., to Chattanooga. I plan to visit in person, soon. I won't look any farther than here when I want new lilies, which will be next clump sale.

The daylilies I received in spring '06 were beautiful and healthy. They started off better than two other shipments from highly rated companys' plants. This spring I have divided some of last year's shipment. Pricing was great. Would order from them again.

I have purchased from them at their garden (potted plants). Though a friend at work and at home (clump sale last year 2006) My purchases from them have been better than great. Very satisified with their service they took very good care of me even when I was buying though a friend at work. I called them to tell them that I didn't recieve something that was ordered and they sent it right out to me {even thought it had been ordered in someone else's name and address}. I can not believe that anyone could have received the type of service that the one neg. person said they got, that's why I deceided to write this. They are great people to work with -really great plants both regular sale and clump. they really made a good mark in my wife's book and she plans on buying more daylilies for me from them. you can not lose by buying from them because everything positive said about them is true and more so. AAA+++ company.

I have visited Sunshine Hollow's gardens before during their regular season and purchased their potted plants which I absolutely love, but this was my first experience with their clump sale. The plants I received were awesome. I received multiple, healthy fans of every variety I ordered...and I ordered quite a few. I'm looking forward to heading back there once the garden opens to spend the day(s) and buy more daylilies. The fruitcake (whether you like fruitcake or not) is also very good. You should try it! Happy Gardening!

found this company from DG watchdog. 100% positive rate. wow! so I check their website and surprisingly see they are doing clumps sale and offer $35 free shipping (march 7 website) can't resist the good deal,so I tried to make my order right away . ooops! when I check out ,there's no free shipping at all. I thought there must be the system problem. since they dont have "toll free" number, I have to spend my money to ask for it. The lady told me "yes, they do offer $35 free shipping" and put me on hold after I told her about this problem. Finally I got my answer is...the plants I ordered are sale items, they decide not to offer free shipping this year due they lost big money last year for sending the big plants free last year ....I felt really stupid to make that phone call . But I asked them to update the correct information in their website. I hate the companies provided wrong information for the customers, especially it's even on the 100% rate. well, maybe they do send the big plants for good price , but not very responsible for their mistake. Maybe this company should think about getting some toll free call if their website information is not always what they really do. very disappointed! I cancelled my order of course.

On March 18th, 2006, meilei changed the rating from negative to neutral and added the following: March18, suprisely got the D-mail from the owners( wrote on March 16). They were responsible and explained everything in details. even admit it was their system processing mistake. I like the way they faced the problem and took full responsibility. just this reply a bit late since I had made my order from the other company.
On May 26th, 2006, meilei changed the rating from neutral to negative and added the following: It seems that there's no more attention after I changed the rating for them here . I sent 2 emails to them to ask for the offer they did in the last email. Never got replied. Well, it seems that I have no luck with this company. and I really don't like this feeling. so I give it up and change the rating again. No more deal with them!

Simply the best! If you're looking for huge daylilies at great prices, this is the place. We've purchased daylilies from several sources this spring and no one comes close to Sunshine Hollow. They will definitely WOW you!

Well, I made the mistake of going to the Sunshine Hollow website after reading all the reviews--boy, are they ever right! When I say mistake, I mean that because I have very little will power when it comes to great assortments of plants that I can't find locally, or thru the usual catalogs. They indeed have more daylillies than I can afford to buy, not because of the prices, which are wonderful for the sizes you receive, but because of the huge selection available. I too was taken back when I went to pick up my box. First it was bigger than I had anticipated, but second it was so heavy! At first, I thought it must be soil around the roots, moss or some sort of packing. The plants were packed well, but the weight was mainly the size and number of plants--all shipped free! By number of plants, I am referring to the additional fans that were packed with almost every variety. I could have easily bought more from them with free shipping and rust free, and divided them and resold the individual pieces locally for what I paid for the whole, as well as doubling my money. Truely a bargin, and the best size and prices I have found in years for daylillies. Thanks to all who recommended them [although my husband won't be so sure when he sees that I've ordered even more]--just can't pass up such a bargin.

On April 28th, 2006, TuddyE added the following: Once again I found myself placing--not one but 2 more orders from Sunshine Hollow. I can't say enough about the size and health of the plants, and the customer service is great. They'll stay on my list of favorites for daylilies, now I have to keep myself from going back to look at what else they have to offer. Very highly recommended!!

Adding to all the other positive responses already posted..... I was also extemely pleased with not only the quantity but also the quality of the fans I received from sunshinehollow. I received a great # of fans not only from those daylilies I ordered that were designated as clump (sale) daylily varieties, but also those varieties that I ordered regularly priced. I will definitely order from them again!!

I recently placed an order for 15 plants from Sunshine Hollow, most were in the clump sale. When I found the box on my porch I was amazed at the weight of it. Very generous clumps and very healthy plants. Why would I look elsewhere for daylilies after this experience? Wonderful people to work with, too!

I just received my order from their "clump" sale. The first thing I noticed was that the box was really heavy! I thought, goodness, what the heck do they pack these things with (I only ordered 7)? Then I opened the box and WOW! They are huge clumps! Many fans, I could not have found plants of this size and quality at this price anywhere -mail order or otherwise - and when I say "fans" - I don't mean skinny, grassy spikes either - I mean really thick (1 inch plus), substantial, green, pruned fans. I could very easily divide these guys and get 2 or 3 times the amount of plants out of them that I thought I was buying. Definately will recommend this company to others and provided they all bloom true - this will be my ONLY source for daylilies from now on. They were also packed very well, delivered at the correct time, and I was sent a tracking e-mail when they were sent.

This is the first of many years I will be ordering from this company. I was blown away by the amount of fans I received when I ordered from their clump sale. The plants are healthy and so reasonably priced, I still cannot believe my luck. The customer service also cannot be be beat. They kept me abreast of my order all the way. Thank you again for a wonderful experience. If there was a way to send a double Positive post I would do it.

Have bought from this location over the last 4-5 years. Mostly by visits. Very nice display gardens. They have very good service and cooperation as well as good quality plants and very fair prices. Products are at least as good as and usually better than represented in their flyers.

I ordered from Sunshine Hollow during their end of the summer sale. Plants were shipped in late August (not the best time, but sale list indicated that they will not hold plants for the sale). The plants were large (some of them included 5 fans) and in good health. The nametags were sturdy and held up until this spring when I got new labels made (labels are always a challenge for this gardener). I will order from them this spring. They have excellent prices. Also, they have the best price for the few hostas which do well in central Texas.
