Posted on February 3, 2011, updated June 25, 2011 I tried to order a couple of dozen bushes and trees from them this week 2-2011. Their catalogue and order form stipulates that the shipping and taxes are included in prices (though it warns of an insurance surcharge). I filled out the form and put my order in and was told that I would be called to confirm. I received an email 2 days later stating that the plants would not be guaranteed (as it stipulates on their publishings) as I am in Ontario and that I should expect to have to pay greyhound (4' tall trees on greyhound?) for shipping. The email was borderline rude, certainly not ''thank you for your business'' or even a hello. I had emailed last year to ask if a plant was available and received a response in the form of ''no'' -nothing else on the email- so I wasn't too shocked at receiving such an uncourteous email. So I responded stating that by law they have to respect what they advertise, that I am very willing to pay the bill that I have contracted by making a purchase agreement HOWEVER that they must make good on their guarantee and that I should not be paying for extra shipping and that it should be forementionned that pick up will be at a bus terminal nearest the customer's home. I am awaiting response. But I am filing a complaint to the BBB , I have already done so to the Ontario Consumer protection agency and will file a complaint with the Canadian agency as well. I respect my obligations and pay the bills that are rightfully mine how is it that more and more businesses get away with advertising this , that and the other thing and are not made accountable? I will post an update.

On June 25th, 2011, bbetv added the following: We received our order mid-May as planned so that was nice. HOWEVER what we received was a beat down box, with bare-root ''plants'' in it. They had been in the box for over 5 days in the bus. The Gogi Berries (12$) were DOA and even if they had been alive they were tiny little plants not anything like described-I paid 5$ a plant for larger specimens that were totally healthy from another company on this site. The Seabuckthorns (9$)were measily little things that came in 1" cell packs wrapped in seran wrap and in one instance crushed by that plastic wrap-they are hanging on , but just barely. I received the Saskatoons that were bare-root and had broken dormancy wrapped in plastic with no humid papertowel or anything, but they are all fine, not great specimens by any means but they will work out. The Evans cherry was a dead stick , I planted it as I was urged to by the owner but it remains a dead twig in my garden. The -supposed 2 year old-Valentine (18$) is okay but I would have never payed the kind of money that I did for what I got. I also bought Evans and Valentine dwarf cherry trees from another nursery that ships TO MY DOORSTEP (4$ for a 1 year old) they too were bareroot but are TWICE the size of the surviving Valentine that I received from Saskatoon. The Chokecherry (12$) I fear will not make it. Just horrible! From service to products a terrible ordeal that cost me a fair amount of money. However I did ask the owner for my money back for the dead or broken plants and did receive a cheque as promised. So at least that much went well.

I've ordered several times from this company. Always pleased with the quality of the plants they have sent. Good communication and shipping.

Two years after placing my order, I've just gotten bare-root plants in very late JUNE. After TWO years, there were plant replacements? What am I to do with bare-root plants which seem to have come into leaf, in JUNE, inside a box? I'll never use this company again.

We bought Saskatoon seedling and other varieties of trees from this company. They were very good with information, shipping and the seedlings were very healthy. Survival rate was amazing.
