I've ordered from Colorblends for several years, and everything has always been PERFECT!! They have a great selection of singles and blends at a good price. They send big, healthy bulbs that are well packed and shipped quickly. Their bulbs always bloom and are exactly what I ordered. No mistakes. This time they outdid themselves -- I placed an order yesterday afternoon and it was on my porch today. How did they DO that? Colorblends is the best!!!!

Colorblends got it right this year in communication & customer service in light of Covid & shipping delays. They were ‘top notch’ in keeping us updated on the status of our order. We ordered maybe 1,000 plus bulbs & they alerted us by e-mail to potential delays in shipping & were only about 2 weeks later than expected [unlike Van Engelen & Brent & Becky’s which were a month late!]. The bulbs arrived in nice reusable plastic crates & were of EXCELLENT quality. The only issue w/Colorblends that I’ve had in the past was mislabeled bulbs or unannounced substitutions, *BUT* that said, they have ‘always’ offered credit for mislabeled bulbs [they subbed a more common yellow & white daffodil for the refined Narcissus ‘Bravoure’; I alerted them of the mislabeled bulbs & they gave full credit]. I will say that the Narcissus ‘Watch Up’ daffodils that we received from them produced the *largest* flowers I have EVER seen in Narcissus in my 45 years of gardening. They were ASTONISHING! So overall, they get the gold star for handling all the crazy delays & had excellent customer communication; I didn’t need to e-mail or call to ask “where are my bulbs??” like I did w/the other companies & no evasive runaround. Incidentally, their color blends are *excellent*; really beautiful. You will not be disappointed. I look forward to doing business w/them in the future; highly recommended.

The bulbs were supposed to be 32-34cm, when I measured them they were closer to 30cm. I notified the company and the response was disappointing, "I will notify my warehouse manager" not what can we do for you. 2-4 cm does not sound a lot, but it is in Amaryllis bulbs.

On September 28th, 2019, iceman49 added the following: Received my recent order of Tulips, Snowdrops and Fritts. As usual the order was excellent, great packing and bulb size. Colorblends does not disappoint, thanks again!

My neighbors have always been delighted with the displays and have now started ordering from Colorblends. Customer service has always been excellent! Cannot say enough great things about this organization.

I recently ordered some bulbs from Colorblends but a few hours later I realized I made a mistake. Colorblends was kind enough to cancel my order and refund me. They responded within a few hours and were very kind and courteous. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have bought bulbs from Colorblends for over 10years. I have also bought bulbs from other vendors but the Colorblends' bulbs are far and away bigger and better than any other company's bulbs. I used to buy lots of tulip bulbs and the displays were amazing but unfortunately Pine Voles have invaded my flower beds and they eat most of the tulip bulbs before they can bloom. Last year they even started eating my hyacinth bulbs also. So now I can only grow daffodils. But I still add new daffodil bulbs each year from this company.

I think the first time I ordered from Colorblends was around 2007/8; the most recent was 2020. Every order has been great - top size bulbs, shipped on time. If you need a lot of bulbs for a good price, I highly recommend them.

Posted on February 11, 2020, updated April 11, 2021 Posted on April 22, 2010, updated February 11, 2020 Last fall was my second year ordering from Colorblends & I have to commend them-no problem ordering & oh what results! I've ordered tulips & muscari & have found them to produce some of the largest & strongest blooms I've ever seen. My neighbors have all commented on my spring display. Based on my excellent experience & other reviews here, I'll be ordering daffodils too this fall. The only downside is digging ALL those holes to plant!

On February 10th, 2020, jessewoodson2 added the following: I think I've ordered from them for about 12 years now for 2 different locations & am still pleased with their product. I have a small planting of tulips that bloomed last spring after 4 years! And it's an area of "not so good" soil! This year could be unusual since we've had a very warm season & the "bushy-tails" have munched on sprouts already, so we'll see! I've ordered tulips, daffs, muscari, crocus, alliums, etc and have been happy with their service, shipping as promised, and lovely blooms!
On April 11th, 2021, jessewoodson2 added the following: The legendary tulips have buds 5 years later (most other varieties have quit) but daffs-OH WOW! 25 bulbs planted 3 years ago had 62 blooms yesterday! Short tulips (only online so I've lost the name) are lovely. Checking the catalog to choose what I want to order to fill in gaps for next year.

I have been ordering from Colorblends for around 10 years. They are the absolute best bulb company, sending the biggest, most reliable bulbs I have ever seen. Their amaryllis are particularly remarkable; I pot them up and give them as gifts every year. The Top 40 Daffodil collection is incredible; I am in the process of filling my entire curb with them, planting 100 of these bulbs every spring. I order the vast majority of my bulbs from them. You do have to order a certain minimum of each bulb, but once you’ve tried it and seen the display they make, there’s no going back. Their quality of bulbs and professionalism is absolutely top-notch. Colorblends should definitely be listed in Dave’s Top 30!

This (October 2016) was my first time ordering from Colorblends and I must say, I am beyond pleased!! I ordered two types of bulbs, Big Apricot tulip and Pink Charm Daffodils. They ALL bloomed and are huge and so healthy! They look like prize flowers and I am so disappointed I didn't order more... I also ordered from another company and the difference between the two is very obvious. I will be ordering all my bulbs from Colorblends in the future! ~ Happy growing!

I have purchased bulbs from Colorblends for several years and have been delighted with the products. However the amaryllis bulbs I purchased for Christmas, 2015 have been exceptional. Their first bloom was wonderful but after spending the summer on the deck, I was not expecting much for this holiday season. In fact they are even more beautiful this year. All of the bulbs (3) have double stalks with 4-5 huge flowers on each one. They have exceeded my expectations and I would not hesitate to order from this company.

Primarily Tulips, Daffodils, Crocus, Muscari, Hyacinthus, and Amaryllis. Companies ordered from included: (Colorblends, Van Engelen, Devroomen, Abbott-Ipco,Tulips.com, Long-field Gardens, Netherland Bulb Company, Holland Bulb Company, White Flower Farm, John Scheepers, K Van Bourgondien and etc... Some came prechilled in limited weeks and others were prechilled personally. While it is to early for Results. I was impressed with Colorblends customer service after dealing 1 on 1 with Hanneke. The bulbs did arrive partially prechilled for $20 extra in good shape and have so far been vigorous. Shipping is 6-7 days to Texas which is the only major con, besides not knowing the exact bulbs in their blends. Will Update with flowering results.

On March 28th, 2015, collectorpalms added the following: It is late March, and now I can give my full recommendation to this company. Their Tulips and Daffodils are among the best in my displays. I would most recommend Colorblends to any business or individual that requires pre-chilling of bulbs and wants to stop traffic and get noticed. The Colorblends tulips mixes that I ordered in order of bloom period starting around the first week of March in Zone 8b Texas were the Big Ups, The Royals, Magmatism, Sultans of Spring, and finally the French Blend around the last week of March. I also ordered singles colors, and among the single best is the El Nino tulip. Only thing I would change is to place an earlier in the season bigger order before they are sold out.
On November 19th, 2015, collectorpalms added the following: Received my fall bulbs order of Daffodils on time and they all looked great. I was really impressed by the size of the "Daffodil 100" I cannot wait to see what all they look like in the spring. I cant thank Miss Hollander enough for answering my questions throughout the season. Some other well respected bulb companies that I spent a lot of $ if you ask them too much, they ignore your email and never follow up! Looking forward to receiving my pre-cooled tulip and hyacinth bulbs in January.
On November 22nd, 2016, collectorpalms added the following: Just put in a couple more orders this year, and had a small order already arrive. The tazetta daffodil bulbs were already starting to sprout, maybe I will be looking at some early winter blooms here in the south. Had another overall great experience last spring as well. When I mentioned late this fall a few batches of the bulbs did not perform they offered to give a credit this season. I wasn't overly disappointed, I just find that is a good way to see how a company responds and if they back their product. Thank you and desperately looking forward to an even better spring 2017!

This was my worst experience of mail order gardening in 30 years. I just did not get what I ordered, which was a mix of red, yellow and orange darwin hybrid tulips called celebration, (which I only ordered because they were darwin hybrids.) There were no orange or red darwin hybrids; there were a few yellow ones. The red tulips were not darwin hybrids (very small flowers and short) and there was only one or 2 orange tulips (out of 100) which were also not darwin hybrids. Almost all the mix was yellow. (I have a photo if anyone would care to see.) I have been ordering tulip mixes for years and never not received what I ordered before. Beware.

The tulip bulbs were healthy-looking, firm and large. About the size I usually get from John Scheepers and McClure and Zimmerman (which is a good thing). The size of the anemones was even more impressive. And the prices were excellent. Their blends of 100 tulips were cheaper than I could have gotten anywhere else for bulbs this size, if I mixed and matched colors for myself.

On April 23rd, 2011, AS added the following: The bulbs came up nicely and bloomed as pictured in their catalog. (I highly recommend the Cool Out mixture. The other tulip blend was nice enough, but that one was spectacular and unusual).

On November 4th, 2015, AS added the following: Just wanted to add, this year's fall shipment was wonderful as always. Also, I called in my order instead of mailing it this time, and I was impressed by the fact that the person who answered said "We will ship these bulbs the week of _____ - Is that OK with you?" Their proposed date was good, but even more, I appreciated it that they asked and didn't insist on shipping to *their* schedule.

I ordered a few hundred pink charm daffodils a few years ago. They were huge. Most were double if not triple nosed. They bloomed beautifully for 2 years. The neighbors were amazed. Unfortunately the hay scented ferns too over last year so there wasnt much bloom this year and I had to rip everything out to remove the ferns. I have since ordered replacements. Quality and price are unmatched.

I have ordered bulbs from Colorblends before with nothing but good experiences, however my last order was exceptional. In the fall I received several (50+) amaryllis (hippeastrum) bulbs, they were huge beautiful bulbs. My plan was for them to all go in the ground. Since they were so large (not complaining) I had more than I needed for my outside location and some I put in pots inside for the winter. The inside bulbs did great and I put them outside (still in pots) when the weather allowed. Several of them have produced “babies” and one re-bloomed. After having amaryllis for years this is the first time I have had one bloom twice in one season. Needless to say the bulbs in the ground were magnificent and I expect they will be for years to come. If the bulbs in the ground grow and reproduce as quickly as the ones in pots I will have to divide them in a few years. Once again no complaining here. I will continue to order from Colorblends and have recommended them to others.

The top 5 ratings for Colorblends are spot on. They have excellent quality bulbs and phenomenal customer service. We ordered some of their landscape size daffodils last fall, along with some tulips and other smaller bulbs. All the bulbs arrived in great condition, and now in spring they are all coming up strong. The daffodils are blooming now, but the variety we ordered (Fortune) came out mostly yellow, instead of the orange cup pictured and described on the web site. I sent an email to Colorblends asking if this was normal or if I could expect them to have the true orange cups in later years. Within an hour or two, Christian at Colorblends courteously replied and explained that this daffodil has a fair amount of variability. He pointed me to some online resources demonstrating that. In the same reply he also offered to send me another bag of bulbs in the fall, or give me a store credit. I opted for another variety of daffodil in a different color. This went way above my expectations for this interaction. It's refreshing to see this level of service - it's one of the few things that distinguishes the great companies from the hordes of average ones. I will not hesitate to order from Colorblends again. You may find slightly cheaper prices somewhere else, but you're not going to find better product or customer service.

Last fall (2012) I ordered daffodils, alliums and crown imperials from Colorblends. Everything was packaged well and the bulbs were huge! This spring, everything came up, no duds at all! The daffodils remained in bloom for 2 weeks longer than my neighbors. I ordered the crown imperials to control a chipmunk problem in my garden. This spring, the only holes from chipmunks were at the far end of my garden where I hadn't planted any of the crown imperials. The alliums are amazing. I will be ordering more of everything from this company. The crown imperials are now past bloom and the foliage looks fantastic, very striking and I get comments from everyone asking about them. I don't think I would order bulbs, carried by Colorblends, from any other source. I do order lots of plants, seeds and bulbs and this was definitely my best experience!

The bulbs I bought last fall are blooming and are beautiful. I had a shady backyard full of wildflowers naturalized over the last 30 years. Last fall it was bulldozed to install a new septic system I wanted to start right away filling the big bare area with something that would bloom in the spring, so I bought the 200 bulb woodland mixture and the bulbs were really nice--perfect condition. One problem though: We had a severe drought last summer. It hadn't rained in weeks. The bare soil was hard as a rock and had to be chipped rather than dug. It didn't help any that heavy machinery had packed down the clay soil. So, I waited for it to rain. It didn't rain. I waited some more. It still didn't rain. Meanwhile I stored the bulbs in a cool (relatively) basement. We were unfortunately also having a heatwave. Disaster! Some of the bulbs do not want to be stored because they dehydrate. Keeping them moist would only make them mold. Without any instructions about what to do in such an unusual situation--I kept on waiting. Eventually I had to plant them as I could not wait until November to plant all those poor little bulbs, so my spouse thought the rototiller might be the answer. It wouldn't start and went to the repair shop but didn't get fixed fast. So I tried a pickax, without success. I have an antique grub-hoe that the settlers used to grub out tree roots on new land and it worked fairly well. I pried out chunks of dry clay and broke it into small pieces, planted the bulbs in patches of like kinds of bulbs, and replaced the soil chunks over them. The weather was too hot for planting fall bulbs with summer-like temperatures; but I did the best I could under the circumstances. It did finally rain but the bulbs did not have much time to develop any roots before the ground froze. As luck would have it, when winter came, it was a real lu-lu. It was endless. When March came there were still four inches of solid ice on the ground with three feet of frozen-solid snow on top of that. Snow would normal be melting by then. When April came, it was still snowing. Finally, the third week of April, the snow mostly melted, but the ground was still frozen and water could not soak into the ground. I feared the bulbs might rot. No bulbs came up. But a couple weeks after my old bulb plantings were blooming, those new ones began to peek out of the ground.. Suddenly it got warm and they burst into bloom in a week. The winter aconites and scillas bloomed first, followed by the miniature daffodils. I'd estimate only half of the bulbs grew except for the Pushkiniana of which all bloomed. They must be very tough cookies! Although the results were less than I had hoped fore, I think they did pretty well considering the conditions: Bare bulldozed clay soil, no rain, too hot for planting, long storage, and an extra long.cold winter. Those conditions even killed most of the weeds I used to have there. The flowers are a bright spot in an otherwise bleak bare spot in my back yard and I'm enjoying them very much. A plus is that the deer did not eat them, just as advertised. I would like to try some more bulbs from this company and hope for better planting conditions.

Posted on November 9, 2012, updated May 6, 2013 I ordered Colorblends tulips "Pillow Talk" and some coordinating daffs, "Funhouse". The bulbs were enormous, and very clean, not so much as a speck of dirt. How do they do that? All have been planted and I might even post pictures when they come up. Service was fast, loved the Dutch newspaper on top and the little postcard gift inside. Good company, fabulous product. If everything comes up as planned, my house will look amazing. BTW, I have very rocky soil, the first bulb planter disintegrated. I bought a "Radius" planter from HD, it's solid as a rock and got me through a couple of hundred bulbs without a scratch. I'm fearless now! More bulbs!

On May 6th, 2013, HeidiNH added the following: My tulips and daffodils are blooming now - they're absolutely beautiful, a lovely combo - white, pinks and yellows. Aside from one rogue red bulb (kind of sticks out in my pastels-yuck!) the flowers are just gorgeous. One of the daffodils is the most unique I've ever seen, a creamy yellow with a white trumpet. Can't recommend them highly enough. I'll be back for more even though I swore I didn't want to plant any more bulbs.

This is my first order from Colorblends. I was impressed when I saw the crate on my doorstep instead of an ordinary paper box. Well packaged, large bulbs only one bulb out of 150 daffodils was soft. I bought the southern daff blend, grand primo and ice follies. I can't wait for them to bloom. I will also compare the the daffodil mixture from them with the ones I planted last year from Van Englen.

This is the third fall that I have ordered from Colorblends. They send the biggest, healthiest bulbs that come up true to color every year. I have been very pleased with their bulbs, and I strongly recommend this company as a source for them. Thank you Colorblends for a traffic stopping garden every spring.

I ordered bulbs from both Colorblends and Van Engelen this year. Both were good experiences but Colorblends was superior. There wasn't a single bad bulb (of 250). All were well-sized and clean. The Colorblends packing was also preferable, as each variety and mix was in a separate mesh bag with a drawstring tie and an ID tag. This made it easy to keep them well "aired" before planting and to carry them around the yard. I have already found other uses for the bags. The Colorblends selection of individual varieties seems a bit smaller than Scheepers/Van Engelen but the prices are lower across the board. I look forward to seeing how the bulbs do in the spring.

Fast shipping and wonderful product. My order arrived in less than a week (I ordered in October for fall bulbs), and I am impressed with how large and healthy the bulbs are. Also, there was a plastic container used to help ship the bulbs--no dented boxes/damaged product, bulbs could "breathe" (in addition, the actual bulbs are in mesh bags), and it's something I can reuse. As others said, yes, great pictures/multiviews on the website and yes, Dutch newspapers are part of the packaging! Highly recommended and I will order from this company again.

First time order with this company (small order - 400 bulbs). Prices were good, bulbs arrived in excellent shape...no mold, mildew or other problems I've encountered with other suppliers (last year ordered 1000+ bulbs from another vendor but had a few problems because of the way they were packaged). Bulbs were large and as advertised or better. Service was excellent. Shipping was in a plastic crate providing excellent air circulation. I will be ordering from them again. Oh. And proof they were shipped from Holland? The sheet of newspaper on top of the bulbs - in Dutch! :-).

I buy thousands of dollars of bulbs for my clients. Last year I finally gave up on K Van Bourgondien after years of consistent shipping and lost orders and I finally decided to make a small order with Colorblends. First I love the way the categorize the bulbs on their site. You can search by color and time of bloom which is very important for me. I also really appreciate that they have a section for warm winter regions. Almost all catalogs and websites ignore places like CA. We're a big state, you'd think someone would wan to make money selling to this huge market but most only market themselves for the east coast and midwest. Ordering was easy. When I needed to make a change to my order they replied to me immediately. The bulbs were shipped ON TIME! So rare with other companies. The bulbs were of good to average quality but I didn't have any problems with their performance. A nice touch is that they will pre-chill things like tulips for you so my home fridge doesn't have to have hundreds of bulbs taking up room for 8 weeks. Prices are very good. My only complaint is that they don't carry other items like Dutch Irises and Lilies but maybe with time they will add to their selection.

I cannot recommend this company too highly. I am so impressed with their service. I ordered 125 daffodils and received huge bulbs last Fall and was very happy with the quality of the flowers in the Spring. I recently contacted them to ask if I could buy a quantity below their minimum order to replace some of the bulbs that had not emerged (probably because we had an extremely mild winter in NJ) and they have voluntarily informed me that they will replace all of them, free of charge. This is unheard of customer service! I have been gardening for 40 years and never had such a wonderful response.

Five out of five stars! The selection and price were impressive. But moreover, the size of the bulbs were remarkable! I ordered a few hundred tulips, daffodils, and allium. I decided to wait until spring to write this review, and happily I can report that every bulb has come up. The foliage is hardy and lush, and the flowers are vibrant, and true to the color ordered. You can purchase from this company with confidence.

I will never order bulbs from another company. They are absolutely the best. I've used them 3 years in a row and never cease to amaze me the size of the bulbs. they are amazing. The first year, I purchased 100 of a mixture of 2 types of daffodils. The two types of daffodils emerged 2 weeks apart and during this time, I thought only one of the varieties were coming up and not the other. I was mistaken. Had I waited just another week, I would have realized that one was just slightly delayed. But, I contacted the company (hastily, I admit now). They were wonderful. They credited my account and the next year sent me 100 more of the same bulbs free of charge. So, I had 200 bulbs!! I love this company. They are fabulous and their bulbs cannot be beat. They are the biggest bulbs I've ever seen and they continue to come up year after year. My yard is the Spring showstopper in the neighborhood.

Wow! I just received my order of fall bulbs and they are unbelievable: big, fat, and healthy! I can hardly wait for spring to see what these beauties produce. In every way, Colorblends is exceptional. They have a wonderful selection, nice products, friendly customer service, and the shipping is superior. Thanks, Colorblends, for a great shopping experience.

I ordered over $500.00 in bulbs, and having planted bulbs before, I know that they will be absolutely stunning! I will have a lot of people peering through my fence! I like how the catalog is set up. For those who are knew to planting tulips and daffodils, Colorblends has so many offerings that you just cannot go wrong!

I can't wait for spring Every single bulb was large and healthy and I'm so impressed. I'll be doing a lot more ordering from this company...they're absolutely first rate!!

I really love a bulb display, and have naturalized them for years. Then, I moved, and had to start over. After a lot of research I picked COLORBLENDS. And am VERY I happy I did. Couldn't ask for a better product; it exceeded my expectations from the catalog. Also, I needed some gardening help, phoned and in touch with Tim, Colorblends owner. Ten minutes later I had a "Bulbs 101" course, and had learned a lot of information I hadn't even known I needed. I'll do all my future buying from Tim and his great company. Bulb_Gardner

I came home from work to find a very heavy package in my carport. I figured it was a hanging Tiffany style lamp I had recently ordered on the Internet. However, it was my Colorblends order! I have never seen tulip and hyacinth bulbs that big- they almost looked fake! This late in the season I was skeptical that there would be any high quality bulbs left. Clearly, Colorblends doesn't skimp on quality at any point in the delivery period. Of course, I can't report on how the bulbs will perform next Spring, but at this size the results are sure to be spectacular. I also appreciated the 2 gifts, a bulb planting knee protector and bulb carrying bag. Will order earlier and more extensively next season!!!

I have purchased bulbs from all the major companies. There is no doubt in my mind that Colorblends is absolutely the best company in terms of product, price, and customer service/responsiveness. I have ordered from Colorblends for over 10 years and every year, I get huge bulbs in excellent condition that perform beautifully. Kudos to Colorblends!

I received two orders of bulbs from this company and am absolutely thrilled. The first order I placed over the summer so obviously I knew it would not ship until this fall. After I saw the beautiful bulds I immediately placed another order and received the package in less than a week. The bulbs are HUGE and healthy - the daffodil bulbs were bigger than the plumbs I just bought at the store. I can't wait for the spring to see the flowers that emerge from these monster bulbs. Do not hesitate to order from the company, you will not be disappointed!!!

I feel compelled to write about the great tulips bulbs and daffodils I received last fall--they finished blooming early June in Maine. They were such huge, healthy bulbs. They all came up great. The price was so amazingly low for the quality. I can't wait to buy another 100.

Posted on October 20, 2009, updated May 6, 2010 Posted on September 21, 2009, updated October 20, 2009 Research on Dave's Garden led me to Colorblends as source to order spring bulbs by mail for the first time. The reviews were positive and they were listed as a member of the Mailorder Gardening Association that specializes in Daffodils. I would like to comment on the exceptional quality of their website. Pictures of the flowers in mass plantings and close-up studies of each variety were available. I enjoyed viewing Colorblends choice of collections sold by color and bloom time. I was in search of selecting bulbs that were to be in bloom early, mid and late season. I was pleasantly surprised to see that a collection of daffodils were selected to grow based on bloom time. I liked seeing pictures of the daffodils that I selected on my purchase order. I also liked that they listed the price I spent per bulb in a bulk order. It made it easy to compare prices against other vendors. I have to say that their prices were reasonable. The only improvement to the website that I can suggest is a collection of bulbs organized by height. My shopping experience was a pleasure. I am anticipating daffodils that will bring about a smile or two this spring.

On October 20th, 2009, Ayla69 added the following: My order arrived today in perfect condition. The bulbs were packaged in a crate that the delivery driver easily carried to my door. The daffodils were labeled so that the tag could be removed and stapled directly into my garden journal. That was a nice touch. Each bulb was healthy and seemed ready to grow. The planting instructions were simple enough to follow. I hope to see a palette of yellow this spring.
On May 6th, 2010, Ayla69 added the following: Spring 2010. In a word, WOW! There were lots of smiles and happiness in my garden due to Colorblends. Rijnveld's Early Sensation and Crocreation bloomed very early as stated and were followed by February Gold. Tahiti was as beautiful as the website pictures displayed. Pipit had a delightful fragrance and I counted 4 blossoms on one bulb! Glory of the Snow came up beneath Pipit and looked fabulous together. Kokopelli ended the daffodil show near the mailbox. My experience with Colorblends was exceptional. The daffodils matched the pictures and descriptions stated on the website. I'll be ordering in bulk for Fall 2010 and anticipate a "WOWIE-ZOWIE" spring in 2011.

Posted on November 23, 2009, updated April 27, 2010 This is the only company I will purchase bulbs from. I have purchased bulbs from them for many years and every year I have been pleased with the results. Last fall due to a number of issues I was unable to take proper care of my "See View Plait" bulbs prior to planting and when I was finally able to get to them a great number of them had turned moldy. I picked the best ones, planted them and hoped for the best. A friend of mine saw the ones that I thought were beyond hope and he asked if he could have them and I said sure. The next spring we both had BEAUTIFUL tulips! Now I would never recommend not taking care of your bulbs properly upon receipt, but I couldn't believe what beautiful tulips those moldy bulbs produced. I had tons of compliments from my neighbors and from the people I was able to give bouquets to. Also, a few years ago I planted some daffodils from White Flower Farm--the "Camelot" bulbs never came up and out of the 50 "Stainless" variety only three have ever flowered. This year I planted 300 daffodils and 200 crocuses from Colorblends, as well as 300 tulips and I know that this spring will be beautiful. The daffodil bulbs especially were enormous, many with three "bulbets" I guess you would say. I cannot say enough about this company. Thank you Colorblends! You've got a customer for life.

On April 27th, 2010, Niere added the following: Spring 2010 update: Just wanted to add that our daffodils are absolutely spectacular! We have had people slowing down to view them and my neighbors have commented on how wonderful they look. Our "See View Plait" tulips are almost ready to bloom and they are looking beautiful so far. Last spring I gave my spent "See View Plait" bulbs to a friend who planted them last fall and they are blooming for a second year and are just as gorgeous as they were the first time around. I was a tad bit disappointed in the crocuses--I ordered and planted 200 of the "Crocreation" crocuses, a yellow and purple crocus mix. We only had nine purple crocuses and those bloomed substantially later than the yellows. Overall, I must say I continue to be very, very pleased with Colorblends and look forward to ordering from them again this year.

I ordered a variety of bulbs (hybrid tulips, naturalizing tulips, spanish bluebells, muscari) last fall. The order arrived when expected, the bulbs were in great shape & this spring I am enjoying a lovely display of flowers. Will definitely continue to order from this company. Posted on May 6, 2009, updated March 21, 2010 I ordered some tulips last fall. All performed well, but I had planned for graduating heights and I think some of the heights listed were a bit off the mark. I ended up with a shorter row of tulips in the back. Also, the pink I ordered that looked like a medium pink in the photos ended up looking rather dark, almost red. I don't want to sound too critical, though. Customer service was excellent, and the bulbs were all healthy and bloomed well. Just a few surprises in size and color. :)

On March 21st, 2010, connietn changed the rating from neutral to positive and added the following: Changing my rating to a positive. I also ordered daffodils that fall, and they're in their second year of blooming and are going to be just gorgeous again. I'm planning a big order of more daffodils this fall.
Company representative comment on May 13, 2009:
On May 13, 2009 9:05 AM, Colorblends (Schipper & Co. USA) responded with:

We appreciate these comments which illustrate a difficulty we have coming up with one exact height for the different climate zones in the United States. Experience shows that spring flowerbulbs perform differently in various locations due to differences in sun, soil, temperature and humidity. We take this criticism seriously as we spend a lot of time and effort to correctly represent the colors and heights of the bulbs that we include in our catalog.
It is often difficult to pick a single image to represent the entire bloom cycle of a flower. Our policy is to try to grow, view and photograph every bulb that we sell during the spring. Sometimes nature and the photomechanical printing process seem to conspire against our better efforts.
