The staff was eager and knowledgeable. My visit was a random drop in on a Sunday drive and I was quite please I stumble across this gem. I made (for me) a couple of fairly large purchases. I hope to get back soon. |

I am sorry to read that people have been disappointed by the expertise here as I was quite impressed with the assistance I got from the employees (Kelly) as well as the owner. |

Organic compost and potting soil too. They also id pests and plant samples. You need to explore the plant selection; there are gems tucked away in the corners. |

It is much bigger than it looks from the highway, and their inventory was incredible. Not only did I find plants that I had been looking for for years, but the plants were in excellent condition, and reasonably priced. Among the very eclectic selection of plants were some really nice garden ornaments, unlike what I usually see in the local nurseries. I have been a regular customer ever since, and it has been a joy interacting with the staff. |

NorCalBrad | On January 24, 2007, NorCalBrad from Berkeley, CA wrote: Set against a hillside whose huge old California live oak provides canopy for a selection of shade loving plants, and topped by a giant ornamental praying mantis on the roof, Greenjeans Nursery offers an eclectic selection of plants suited to the San Francisco Bay Area climate. They have a strong selection of bamboo in 5-15 gallon sizes, and a number of large cycads under the aforementioned oak. Greenjeans seems to prefer the unusual to the common, which means you are likely to encounter unfamiliar species and varieties rather than generic nursery stock. A highlight of the nursery: it sells lots of organic fertilizers by the pound, allowing you to get as much or as little as you need. The staff are all dedicated, knowledgeable plant people. |
