Great place for orchids! if you have a couple minutes, their staff will help you pick out just the right combination of orchid, pot and decoration (straw bow, support and clip, gift card) for that special hard to buy for Mom, and put it all together for you. but before special holidays, shop early! they do get picked over a bit.

they had marvelous hanging baskets of Thanksgiving and
Christmas cactuses last year. hope they do again

I visit this nursery regularly and overall, they are very good. They have a large inventory of plant care supplies, yard art, perennials, shrubs, trees, tropicals and, most particularly, orchids.

They are known for their large orchid greenhouse, with a great number of varieties. They will take any plant or orchid you pick and design an arrangement with it in a vase or pot of your choice for a small fee. This is an excellent place to go for gifts--bring in a container or pick one there, pick your orchid or tropical and they do the rest---placing it all in the container with moss, supports, bows etc. They also design incredible centerpieces and other living plant arrangements for home display, entertaining, real estate show houses etc.

I have purchased bushes and perennials there, and the staff seems very knowledgeable. Their prices are not cheap, but their stock is healthy and cared for, and they do have good sales. Not a place to go if price is the main concern, but a great place to go for healthy plants, advice and, of course, anything to do with an orchid.

My only consistent complaint is that they do not carry very many brands of soils and mulches. Generally, one brand only of the things I've asked for. Their bulb and seed display and soil and mulch selection is not as large as Logan's Trading Company, another local Raleigh nursery.
