What a lovely store! So unique & different from the usual box store. Upon entering the store I was immediately greeted & wished good morning! I love the patio area & coffee bar. It was busy but I was helped fairly quickly with my purchase by friendly ladies in the gift shop. A must see store in Anchorage. :) I will be back for flowers as soon as the weather warms up!

I live in walking distance to Bell's and have been buying plants for four years. Everything is fresh and I haven't lost a single one. I do container gardening of flowers and herbs. I find people at counter busy and nice. Not any help on floor as I wander around for hour or more. Important to trust that I buy fresh plants and good sales that save me money.I return every year!

I have enjoyed shopping at Bell's for quite a few years. The last two years, however, have been considerably different. Last year, the lines were long, there was no help on the floor, etc...

This year, I spent $300 got home and within 24 hours 4 of my plants were dead. DEAD. While I understand that plants are not predictable I have extensive experience and can tell you that there was NOTHING that I did to kill these plants. All the other varieties that I bought were fine and are thriving. After spending 45 minutes in line (one cashier on a SUNNY Sunday!)I was expecting to enjoy my little green gifts.

I called Bell's to find out if they could replace the plants in question. I was not only told "no" I was told in a fairly rude manner. I was also informed while I explained the problem to the 1st person that I spoke with that someone had also been in there that same morning with the same plants, with the same problem. While I understand their policy, I cannot understand how they stay in business with such nasty old ladies working there.

I had brought my 6 month old son to Bell's on Dearmoun on Sunday and I did not have a good experience. We were walking around and there must have been 5 people working and not ONE person came up to me to ask me if I needed help. We were in the store for 15-20min and in that whole time not one person said "Hi" or asked if we needed help. And when we went to go pay for our item (after I walked around and around and finally found what I was looking for) the lady behind the counter didn't even ask if we found everything we needed or any polite talk what-so-ever. I will not be going to Bell's anymore and I will not be recommending it to anyone I know. I would say the staff needs to take a class in customer service. I've been in customer service for over 15 years and this is one of the worst experiences I've had.

Belle's Nursery is absolutely the best in the city!!!!! I've had nothing but great service there. The staff is wonderful, and the quality is top notch. I've had great luck with all my plants I've bought there, and have bought quite a few gifts there too. They have a great, upbeat attitude and I really appreciate that in a place. I'm a good gardener and I will continue shopping at Belle's as opposed to Lowes or Home Depot. The plants are fresh and acclimatized to Alaska.

What to say about Bells Nursery, yes they have nice merchandise, but I will NEVER shop there again. And I would advise every honest hardworking individual to also find an alternative. My mother in law recently had a run in with the staff which included upper management, in which she spent over $ 400.00, one of her items and $ 18.00 figurine was not in the box when she began un-packing at home. When she called to talk to someone about it she was accused of being dis-honest but was told to bring her receipt and come back to the store. When we arrived they interegated her on how come she did not notice that the box didnt not feel heavy enough to contain the item. Which could have weighed no more then a pound. After 30 minutes of this abuse they photocopied her receipt and told her that they would replace the item but they thought it was really strange that she hadnt noticed the missing item. As we were going round and round with them over our item, another elderly lady standing next to us was returning an item and being told that because she did not have the original box they would not take it back, mean while the lady kept insisting that that was the box the item was sold to her in. The staff and management of Bells Nursery has lost at least one customer over and item that could have cost them no more then $10.00. I am getting ready to have a wedding that is already totalling $30,000.00 and there is no way I will even consider sending any of my guest to Bells for gifts.

As the son of the owner of this establishment, I do my utmost to aid customers to the best of my ability, and ensure that my fellow employees do the same(yes, I worked there as a common employee, but now am active duty Navy). My father takes pride in customer service, and I see it in customers responses. I have seen customers year after year, and every time they always bring friends along, who enjoy the experience just as much, if not more. They always have smiles on their faces, and I make, or shall I say, made it a point to ask each customer I assist about the quality of the service, and they all liked it immensely. Please keep in mind that am not in any way prejudice to my father's buisness. I am writing this simply as a matter of honest opinion.
