I've shopped at Abell's for years and have never had a problem. The review made before mine mentions price as an issue, but it's my opinion that you get what you pay for. If you're after the highest quality, Abell's is the place. The entire staff is always very friendly and courteous. There is one particular girl in the office that really knows her stuff! I think she graduated from UF with a horticulture degree recently.. but she's helped me without fail MANY times. The nursery is always very clean and organized. All the plants are labeled with fantastic signs that explain all you need to know about the plants you're buying, then when you check out they will give you care instructions to take home so it makes taking care of your plant a total no-brainer! You can't mess up if you're capable of following directions.

I've shopped at Abell's nursery many times. I quit going because it is expensive and the service is mediocre. There is a tall, blonde-haired woman, whom I assume is the owner, who is quite rude. She is condescending when she explains something to you; in addition, I've overheard her speaking about customers and putting them down. The women who work inside as cashiers quite often do not their plants. I've asked general questions about plants -- watering, lighting, etc. and have been given wrong information numerous times. This has resulted in several plants dying. I've re-purchased the plants at another location, and was given the right information about the care of the plants which resulted in beautiful healthy plants. South florida is abound with nurseries --- why settle? I will say the hired hands who help with the loading and moving of the plants are ALWAYS nice and courteous.
