I don't live in the South unless you consider South Dakota as "south". "Passalong" does share stories of many of the plants we can use up here and offers real information. It was so easy to identify with the humorous and sometimes exasperating experiences of other beleaguered gardeners. This is to read and share, but your friend has to give your book back to you after you share.

Funny book with good pictures. You learn along with the humor.

This is one of my favorite books. As I live in Houston, Texas, it is certainly apropos to me. Many of my plants are "passalongs" and many are in this book. One in particular I love is the hardy begonia, the start for which was given to me by my sister.

The first copy of Passalong Plants that I read came from the library. I couldn't rest until I acquired my own copy. It is well written and humorous. It has provided me with a foundation for southern plants. I have acquired many as passalongs. This book is a must read for the southern gardener...

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Steve and Felders fun and entertaining reference book on Passalong plants, and I go back to it often. This is a light hearted look at great heirloom plants that are often too hard to find commercially. The photos are nice, the descriptions are very good and the antidotes are often very funny but right on the mark!
As a reference, Passalong Plants is definitely a good book, especially for southern gardeners. As for entertaining reading it is great!

Another one of my favorites co-authored by Felder Rushing. This book has lots of anecdotal stories about Rushing's and Bender's experiences swapping plants and which ones are best to have for swapping, I mean passing along.

Gardeners from all regions will enjoy "Passalong Plants" for its charming storytelling, pertinent plant information, and beautiful photography.

I enjoy(ed) this book very much. It is both informative and entertaining. Especially applicable to us southerners.
