It's also for you if you know that they would add "winter interest" in your garden but aren't sure how to integrate them with your perennials and shrubs or even if you haven't the slightest interest in them. One look at the many photographs will convince you they should have a place in your garden. Adrian Bloom was familiar to me as a visiting celebrity on Victory Gardens years ago, but he's also part of an amazing dynasty of gardeners in England. His father founded Blooms of Bressingham, Adrian and his brother are both renown gardeners themselves, and Adrian's son Richard is a collaborator on this book. I use this book a lot for inspiration and also to look up plants. Check it out at the library first and you'll be hooked! |

Very practical guide. Great pictures. Helpful info as the first poster said. Good ideas. Just getting started in putting together a grouping of dwarf conifers and found this book helpful. |

The book covers the main groups of conifers and describes a fair number of the more popular cultivars within each group. Not only is the book useful for describing the various conifers, but there is also useful info on the culture of conifers, pruning, transplanting, etc. If you grow conifers, then this is one of the best conifer books to purchase. |
