I planted them in very average soil, and immediately they began to grow with very little help from me. I kept them watered, but that was about it. Now two of the plants are climbing to 4 feet and have begun to bloom. They bloom VERY quickly. One or two days as opposed to the 4-5 days it took for the Thomas Edison dahlias to bloom. As the person below mentioned, they open all the way to the center where big, chubby bumble bees love to roll around.
I'm not picky. I do not mind the polleny center. These blooms are big, true to color, and beautiful. Besides wanting a LOT of space, they really needed nothing more.
