I live in SW PA in zone 5. This flower appeared in my garden this spring & I have finally identified it. I am surprised that it found it'...Read Mores way this far north. It grew robustly in morning sun in a moist acidic soil. I let it set seed, so hopefully it will propogate itself this spring.

This plant is native to the U.S. and grows near banks and shorelines from Arizona to Wyoming. It's flowers are pink and bloom from June - August.
