One completely died the third season and the other only had a couple of buds. I have replaced the 'midnight wine' variety with 'dark horse' hoping for more hardiness. I am in the city of Austin, MN, and am fairly protected but we do get a lot of wind. This past winter we had several feet of snow...most everything looked better than ever, except the weigela...not sure what happened.
