Last year I took a plantlet that grew off a root and potted it up. It is now in bloom and gorgeous with the best "old rose" fragrance I know of. I'm in Oakland CA.

It's been completely disease resistant even with nearby hybrid teas defoliated by blackspot and some phlox nearby with mildew. It generally seems to be bypassed by insects.

If aquiring by mail order, I recommend ordering from at least 2 different companies. They tend to sell out quickly if offered at all and you may receive an imposter that blooms only once, has lighter pink flowers with less petals, lighter colored foliage and thinner canes more prone to arching.
