I'm looking for a Crape Myrtle that I can keep in a container, a wine barrel, so probab...Read Morely 10-12 feet tall max. The color is not as important as the growth habit and length of bloom. I need the small tree for shade over ferns and other shade annuals and perennials, so I'd like as much of a broad, spreading canopy as possible. I thought "Pink Velour" might be a good choice, but it looks a little too "lollipop" in habit. Acoma and Burdundy Cotton are two other possibilities. Can anyone please advise me, based on the above information? ( I live in Northern CA, zone 9)
