They tend to be priced h...Read Moreigher than other house plants but this one is well worth it for the beauty of the foliage and simplicity of growing. Lanced shaped leaves are shades of bright green, edged and veined in rich red. Mine is kept in a FL room with windows that are mostly opened, I put it out in the rain in the summer for water, then back into the porch. When temperatures dip below 50 the windows are closed. It seems very happy and even though a slow growing plant it has almost doubled in size in a bit over a years time. I haven't given any fertilizer. It did get some flowers, off white very similar to caladium flowers. I only water it when I see it getting a bit droopy. These plants can be grown outdoors in shade areas zone 10a and higher.
