To my surprise...Read More it struggled thru the first year and survived a very bad winter. In this 2nd year it is putting forth beautiful deep red blossoms with slight ruffling on the edges. It has a velvety appearance and retains color well through the day. It is somewhat of a plain looking daylily, but with a "Wow" color. A very nice addition to the flower garden. farmerjoy
