It was not labeled for hardiness, but the nursery owner said it had overwintered outdoors in her (beautifully tended) garden. I was much taken with it for the full growing year, but foolishly left it outdoors in a shallow planter all winter--an unusually cold one--and it did not make it.
It had beautifully arching golden flowered branches that made the planter look like a fountain and fared well even though it was alternately over- and under-watered by erratic rainfall in my mountain climate. I have no idea whether my cultivar was actually oppositifolia, but it sure looked like the pictures on the Net, such as this one: http://www.blomsbulbs.com/products/41-Spring-2014-Collection...
