"A retired Landscape Designer, I now collect and sell unusual seeds all over the world. Nothing fascinates me more than collecting seeds, trying to figure out how they designed themselves to piggyback on nature and get dispersed where new plants will thrive. If you've ever fought Dormancy and Germination Inhibitors, or delighted in the oddball shape of a seedpod (consider exploding Geraniums!), you know what I mean.
I live in the California desert, where lots of exotic plants grow, since there's almost no winter. There's also no humidity, so starting seeds requires an Intensive Care Unit. I sell seeds for a living, but start my plants from cuttings. Nature's revenge!
The computer has eaten my life. My tan is long gone, tools put away, fingernails shiny, muscles disappeared. I still prune my own roses (so very Zen), but spend more time on Google than in my own yard.
