| "I'm a transplant from Eureka, Ca., where almost anything would grow. Now live near Boise, Id., where I'm still learning how to work with the elements of high desert gardening. The blessing here is that we have 4 distinct seasons, which I love. I'm very interested in hydroponics and other ways of extending the garden growing season to year round. I'm also interested in healthy ways of building up the soil, and encouraging the bird, butterfly, dragonfly, and frog population--like it used to be when I was a kid. I like to collect rain water to use on my house plants and some of my outdoor plants. Would be interested in info for maintaining my water supply against algae and bacteria without using chemicals.
