"I moved to a new home in March 2005. No plants at all. I had to landscape the entire 1.5 acres. I have the design and we began some work, but it will be a slow and ardious process.
I have a BS Degree in Biology with a concentration in Plant Science. I also have a minor in Environmental Studies. I've always been interested in growing plants, my earliest memory being Nasturtiums growing in the back yard. My Mom and her friends would be amazed that I could say Nasturtiums correctly.
For my yard I prefer plants that have interest in more than one season. Plants that may bloom and also have wonderful looking leaves. Another example is the Curly Willow or Walking Stick Hazel. Both of those have interrest in the Winter by having unusual looking stems.
I'm retired on a Disability and love to Garden. However sometimes I cannot do what I used to do. So I'm always looking for ways I can make my life easier. I do love to garden so and don't want to give it up.
