"Background: The house--a really cool 70's retro. Located in a stand of trees next to a small forest and runoff creek. The property--almost entirely smothered in English ivy. A lot of plants and planting areas but some too mature, overgrown, scraggly. Poor soil and mostly shade. The boyfriend--innocent until proven guilty. The mission--make it pretty!
I'd never found time for gardening before, having lived in more temporary abodes, but now I have such a beautiful (albeit not blank) canvas, I am almost driven to it. This place is my dream landscape, in the woods, with rocks and moss and ferns, and native drought-resistant plants. Except the pieces are out of place. Now it is up to me to solve the puzzle. Is this mission...impossible??" |
