| "I have a perennial flower garden with Asiatic and Oriental lilies, hibiscus, hollyhocks, dahlias, alstroemerias, and peonies. I have another bed of crinums that are surrounded by tulips and daffodils in early spring. In my yard are dogwood trees, Japanese magnolia, edgeworthia shrubs, a camellia, a tree peony, an Itoh peony and a hedge of rose of Sharon. Also, a fig bush and several peach trees. The woodland garden is loaded with hostas, heleborus, azaleas, and dogwoods with iris and daylilies on the border. There are smaller flower beds in the yard that contain tigridias and dipladenias. The foundation plants around the house are rhododendrons and azaleas. In summer the porches are full of pink caladiums. I am a retired teacher who plays in the dirt. Life is good!" |
