"Moxee is mostly hop fields and fruit orchards and cattle or horse grazing pastures. We are fortunate to have a small stream along our southern property line with ducks and beaver year round ..... about a 1/2 mile east to west. We live on a 20 acre parcel with a 1/2 mile property line to the north ... adjacent to Hwy 24 with about 1/4 mile long driveway from the highway and our mailbox to our doorstep and only 75 ft from the stream. Imagine a 1/2 mile hike to get your mail. Its enough to make one smirk to think about the effort required to open the daily mail .... but we love it. Today (Jan 31) I watched a Kestral (Sparrow Hawk) snatch a small ground squirrel along the driveway and fly away. The squirrel was nearly the same size as the little hawk. We have wind, cold & heat extremes and if we had a swimming pool this place would be heavenly."
