"Hello all....
My name is Brian but I go by MontanaVineMan on this site. You can call me either/or! I live in the beautiful state of Montana, in the capital of the state, Helena. Pronounced: Hell - enna if you didn't know. Many people think it's Hell - eena, which is wrong. Just FYI here in case anyone cares.....lol! I am lucky in that I live in a sort of microclimate here in Helena, where I am able to grow plants that most people in this part of the state cannot. My house is over 115 years old and the yard and gardens are very established, and I think it's this reason that I have such a nice little microclimate. I love to grow the strange and exotic types of plants that no one else here has. I have succeeded in this quite well so far. Many people stop and look at my gardens and my yard. I even have people knock on the door to ask if they can see the whole property and they also like to ask what certain plants are, since they have never seen them here before. My favourite things to grow are vines. I love any kind of vine and climber. I have many different kinds growing throughout my property and I also have a solarium built onto my home which enables me to grow tropicals and exotics to enjoy during the winter months as well. I absolutely love any and all types of Passiflora and have many different species in my solarium. I will sometimes take them outside in the summer months and let them clamber and climb all over the house, shrubs and fences. I have even found some vines and other plants, shrubs and trees that are not supposed to be hardy here, overwintering quite well. I feel lucky in that regard and it really makes my home and property a showstopper kind of place. I love to share my plants with others. I am somewhat of an expert on plants, tree's and shrub's, so I am always happy to answer questions for people or ID anything for them too. Anyway, thats kind of a small autobiography of myself so you know who I am now and what I'm about!
