| "5/4/05: I adore fragrant roses (think OGRs, David Austin and Heirloom Roses), and anything else rose-scented! I gravitate toward a cottage-garden feel, and prefer to landscape for function as well as beauty. I've maintained an interest in herbs (including medicinal) for >15 years, and use my plants for crafts and cooking. If it's attractive AND edible, I want it! We moved to Vancouver, WA one year ago from Jupiter, FL for about 7 years, so have experience with tropical plants. I'm in gardener's heaven here, but miss my passionflowers (second to only to roses in terms of obsession) and jasmines (particularly J. sambac Grand Duke of Tuscany), but am experimenting with growing my favorite tropical plants indoors here. Other plants of interest include scented geraniums, lavenders, hyacinths (my namesake!), plants for potpourri, walkable lawns and edible greens." |
