"UK member (Devon). Am a retired teacher and keen gardener, particularly alpines. Have an extensive collection of approx. 2700 alpine plants in a rather small garden. Make my own troughs for alpines from polystyrene boxes and hypertufa, and give lectures on making them, as well as general talks on rock plants. Member of the AGS and the SRGC. Am interested in growing but not showing. Since retiring I have run a small hobby nursery from the back garden. My favourite occupation - buying alpines !!! My biggest vice - killing half of them. Have a superb wife without whom I would be half a man. We married in 1960, and if I had to live my life again, I would still marry her.
