| "Hi! I work at the Holden Arboretum in Kirtland, Ohio. It's a 3400 acre plot of land that is mostly natural areas. That's where I work. I spend my days trekking the natural areas and collecting data on the plant communities, rare species of plants, and some animals. When I'm not there, I'm helping in the 5 acre wildflower garden of Ohio native plants, or removing exotic species to keep them from killing off other species. I guess you could say I'm a native plant geek, er, excuse me, botanist. When I come home you'd think I'd want to get away from plants, but no. I collect Passiflora, carnivorous plants, orchids, citrus trees, and have a yard full of small wildflower, butterfly, herb, vegetable and wetland gardens. In the winter when I bring in everything that won't survive the winter, there's barely any room for my husband, myself and all my pets. So maybe I'm addicted..." |
