Notice in this pic that there is pavement on BOTH sides of the line of grass. The crack it is growing up through is only about half an inch wide. AND this is SEPTEMBER in TEXAS where you can literally fry an egg on the pavement (newspaper successfully did just that for a story last year). Now THAT'S a tough grass! Normally around here it can and often does reach 8 feet tall.
