It stands tall changing colors from a Dark Red begining to a medium orange and on to a nice dried brown, this plant works. Even if it does fall over, it falls straight over. No bending in these stems. This is a great plant combined with Salvia 'Amethyst', Stachys Hummelo, or Calamintha nepeta ssp nepeta.
Growing well so far (for the first time) in zone 5a, near Des Moines, Iowa. Buds just beginning to show color in mid-June.

Edited June 18, 2006 to say that the plants did very well over the winter and came back gangbusters in the spring. I have posted a new picture of the same plant from last year's picture which is now huge. Does not spread or behave at all invasively. It is a well behaved plant and lovely silvery-green foliage is a great backdrop for the brick red/yellow flowers.
