IN the wild they are barely visible and care must be taken not to step on them. this variety has a nice reddish, magenta color. Most others look about the same to me- all brownish with slight variations in texture, color and size. These are outstanding pot specimens.. only water in growing season, though (fall) because watering in spring will usually rot them.
