I took some from a friends acre lot last August that no one kne...Read Morew was there and was hidden in a nook between stones and buried by tall weeds. The pieces I took were small starts. By October these starts became a 12" spread and turned a reddish/purple color through spring. Swear it even grew under snow! They really took off this year and are now very large mats at the boarder of my south-facing front yard rock garden. They became completely covered with tiny white star flowring clumps and were recently cut back.
Can be divided and placed out spring through early fall. Covers ground in a hurry and likes my dry eastern WA climate.
A warning though...when cutting back or dividing make sure to gather up any broke off leaves that may drop off as your moving around the yard....they will make new plants with or without your help!!
I can't tell the difference between this and 'Chubby Fingers.'
