It does okay with minimal attention, and is ok on the dry side. However, thrips will absolutely destroy the new leaves. Since the large, shiny, long-lasting leaves are the main draw of this plant for me, I have to watch it carefully for signs of thrips every once in a while. Otherwise I'll have a leaf that looks bad for a year.
