Australian Bustard
The order Otidiformes was separated from the Gruiformes to include the bustards. Because they live in open country with few perching or hiding places, they tend to be extremely shy and wary creatures, keeping a keen eye out for predators. They walk on long legs with a unique stride that once observed can help identify bustards in the future. While they don?t fly often, when they do, they extend powerful wings and can fly away from danger rapidly.
