Harvestmen
Harvestmen are part of an order of arachnids of some 6,500 species worldwide. They are commonly known as ?Daddy Long Legs? because their legs are very long in relation to their body size. Unlike spiders, harvestmen have a single oval body segment and they are never venomous. They have a single pair of eyes and can secrete a foul smelling liquid when threatened. Harvestmen are mostly nocturnal and they can be found in forests, fields and climbing on trees. Daddy long legs primarily eat small insects, plant material and fungi and their lifespan is only about a year. All harvestmen lay eggs, pass through four to six nymph stages and molt three to four times before reaching maturity.
