Purchased from Lowes in April, 2009 (www.greenvalleygrowers.net). Also known as a Pygmy Date Palm described as "An excellent, slow growing, dwarf palm with an upright to slightly curving trunk. Gracefully arching leaves to 3' long form a dense crown. Jet-black dates in summer ripen to a rich red. Ideal for indoor or outdoor containers."
