Lilium

Crosses with Lilium 'Leslie Woodriff' Fertile Sister

Growing Liliums (Lilies) from Seed provides the grower with a range of types and colours which not available commercially. Unlike purchasing bulbs, growing Liliums from seed assures that the seedlings will be disease and virus free.

These Lilies are NOT from the Cut-flower Industry!

These Liliums are easy to grow from seed - The Asiatic, Trumpet and Orienpets (OT's) will normally bloom the second year from seed if well cared for. Other types require a little longer time to bloom, but are not difficult to grow from seed if our growing instructions are followed.

With the seeds being offered, some should produce their fist bloom/s in approximately 18 months from sowing in early Spring. They will mature to the size of a cricket ball or even larger by the summer of 2013, along with a display of many beautiful, heavenly scented blooms per bulb on stems which regularly reach 1.8 metres High. Each stem will average between 8 and 24 blooms, often more. They will fill you garden with magnifican flowers and a variety of scents over a period of approximately 6 weeks from Christmas onwards.

They will also produce many stem bulbs during this time for you to share with your friends or plant out to increase your collection. Once mature, the bulbs also split on a regular basis.

Please note that all Seed listed on Sparra's Nest is from the excess left over from my own Personal Hybridising Efforts . The seed is therefore from an excellent gene pool, and is of the finest quality.
