Giant Chinese Silver Grass Miscanthus Giganteus I imported these from Germany for $300 ten years ago. This is not Miscanthus Floridulis (which I understand is not sterile). Mine are Giganteus that are sterile and grown to supplement the burning of coal in Germany. Mine are about 12 feet high without my watering them-they reach about 18 feet tall when they bloom in October. If you plant a tuber the size of your thumb in May, it will be about 7 feet by August. This grass stays in one clump, gradually becoming about 3 feet wide at the base. | Roots, Tubers and Bulbs | (PlantFiles) |
