| European Red Elder Sambucus pubens This appears to be the same as the photos for Sambucus racemosa. The post about birds liking it and doing well under other trees in the shade is right on for my yard too. I live in Northwest wisconsin in zone 4 and the birds have left seedlings here and there for me. When this bush is full grown it looks very natural and very elegant under larger yard trees like juniper and spruce.
