Ocimum Ocimum sanctum Green variety.A tropical/subtropical basil I brought from India. It is considered the holiest of all plants for hindus. Keeps mosquitos at bay as well as many bacteria that may be found in soils such as leprosy and tubercolosis .Doesn't taste like Thai basil or common basil. It has a clove-like smell. It is not trad. used for sauces and salads but used for spiritual reasons as well as in ayurverdic medicine. It is said tha Yama, the lord of death, cannot approach a house where a healthy tulsi plant is kept. Therefore, almost every hindu (vaishnava) family keeps a tulsi plant at the house.Should it die, it is considered a major catastrophy. | 'Linn' | Seeds | ![]() (PlantFiles) |
