| Kolkwitzia Species Kolkwitzia amabilis Our FREAK 12" snow storm Oct. 29, 2011 in MA laid down our estimated height of 15', 32 year old, bush. We are heartbroken since it has bloomed so beautifully for so many years. My husband "pruned back" the canes to about 8', and we used a "come-a-long" to pull it back up into position. Added fertilizer to the "hole" on the side where it was pulled from the ground. It is "staked" to a tree for the winter. Hopefully we won't loose it.
