Syringa vulgaris

I received cuttings for my lilacs 10 years ago from my mother in Ohio, who has had them flowering abundantly every spring by her home for as long as I can remember. I've grown them successfully in NC (zone 7b), and my plants are established enough to now have new suckers emerging each spring. Fully grown, hers reached over 10 feet tall, with blooms everywhere. Mine have reached 6', and continue to grow taller. To this day, the wonderful fragrance of lilacs in bloom reminds me of my childhood. By far, my favorite flowering shrub!!
