Seeds - Dichelostemma

Johannesburg, South Africa

I am a bit of a "seedaholic". I am also totally enamoured with bulbs, mostly South African and grow many. I have seen in my RHS A to Z encyclopaedia an interesting bulb from California. I wonder if anyone grows Dichelostemma bulbs with a particular interest in the one named "ida-maia". Previously Brodiaea ida-maia - California firecracker. Needless to say its red with a little green at the tip of each flower and yellow too. Apparently Oregon is also home to this bulb. They could be flowering now in your summer and then seed ????

Lee's Summit, MO(Zone 6a)

I planted these bulbs this spring - just went to check for seeds - no seeds, just bare bloom stalks. Edited to say: here's where I bought mine:
