Finally! First Clematis Bloom

Thomson, GA

I got one of those PVC planters with trellis for free last year, and couldn't figure out what to plant in it. Finally settled on Clematis, and planted them in March. Well, finally the first one bloomed today. Of course, the tag I had stuck in the soil is nowhere to be found. I have another one planted on the other side, but it is growing even slower.

Little Miss Emily thinks it's cool; she likes to walk under it back and forth to the bird bath.

Very pretty. Clematis are fairly new to me too. I am growing C.henryii which has huge,up to 9", white blooms. And Comtess de Bouchard which is a pretty pink. They have both been blooming all spring. I don't know the name of yours but it's a great color.

I have that looks like that and it was labeled, Barbara Jackman. Bought it at Lowe's and someone pointed out to me that I had the wrong ID. Short answer is I have no idea what exactly the name is. Also mine didn't really get going until the second year, blooming like crazy right now.
