I keep reading about how large the root systems can get on clems. Having no experience growing them, I was wondering :
Can clematis' root systems ever pose any damage to nearby pipes or home foundation? I ask becuase I have very little room to grow plants outside. The bed I have to work with is very close to the front of my home and sits atop many pipes.
Thanks,

Clematis Roots - Potentially Damaging?
No, even though the roots are tough, they are not woody like tree roots. They will not bust through pipes or house foundations.
we should only hope for that kind of vigor.never heard of it.
