You can also get "Fiesta in Blue" and "Monet's Blue" -- both are very pretty true blues. If you want one that is blue with dark blue beards, you can get "Codicil". "Sugar Blues" is a very nice true blue that is also a reliable rebloomer in Zone 6 AND it smells like bubble gum!
Lots of choices -- all of these have pictures in DG.

Beautiful, I love the blues. From the papery spathes, I'd guess that it is pretty old, too.

McGregor, IA(Zone 4b)

Does Babbling Brook have blue beards? I have one that I am trying to ID that looks like it.

Cocoa Beach, FL(Zone 10a)

No, not according to the pictures in PlantFiles.

Actually Codicil is from 1984. Can't explain the papery spathes. Here it is in plant files:

And here is Nahalem Bay. R&I says the top is white, but in my garden it is very light blue. It's falls are a medium blue. Very elegant looking.

Raining again !
So I am so glad I run acroos this thread since blue is one of my alltime favorit colors and these GEORGEOUS blues you're all showing just took my breath away.

I have one blue which is a wonderful iris, have to go out and see if I can rescue a tag which hasn't faided or washed away.I wait until the rain stops.

Startet my BLUE list...the more iris I see the more I want....LOL....a fairly new obsession.Bought a few in 2007 when I startet a brandnew garden in a new location, bought a few more last year and this year OG help me....haha
